Volunteering for The Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation

Volunteering for The Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation

‘Tis the season for giving!

As much as we all love getting gifts, giving to others fills you with a sort of warmth that no physical gift could bring. I recently attended an event in Santa Barbara, California hosted by Rad Night. Rad Night is a female social group that hosts an event each month that brings women together to learn a new skill. The month of December featured The Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation. The Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation helps families with children fighting cancer.

One event put on by The Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation, and the one Rad Night helped with, is called Project Holiday. My volunteer time involved wrapping presents that will be given to the children and their siblings at a holiday party hosted by the foundation.

We also potato-stamped tote goody bags that were donated to the elderly in assisted living.

Volunteering doesn’t always have to be as extreme as going on a trip to another country. There are many ways to give back to your own community. Whether it is donating money and items or donating your time, there are so many ways to make a change in this life. If there was any time to start, it would be at Christmas!

For ways to volunteer go to The Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation.
